Biography
Dr. Dimitrije Šarac is a radiology specialist employed at the University Clinical Center of Serbia since 2015 — first at the Emergency Center and, since 2019, at the Department of Urogenital Radiology. He defended his specialist academic studies in radiology in 2018 and obtained the title of radiology specialist in 2019. Working at the Center for Radiology, he has gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and oncological follow-up of malignant diseases.
Every year he performs a large number of examinations across all diagnostic modalities — conventional X-ray diagnostics, ultrasound, multidetector computed tomography (MSCT) and magnetic resonance imaging — and regularly serves on the duty teams of the Emergency Center, with extensive experience in detecting emergency conditions. He is currently completing a subspecialization in digestive radiology.
He takes part in scientific research that has resulted in notable publications in Serbian and international journals, including work on the application of machine learning and radiomics in radiological diagnostics. He lectures at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) and at national radiology and urology congresses, mentors the radiology specialization at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, and is an external associate of the Multimodal Biomedical Engineering Research Group at the School of Electrical Engineering.
